Leslie’s Pyramid

before August 1994
Materials:  glass, solder over copper foil
artwork

The stained-glass box I made for my friend Leslie, after the Mondrian Box made me appreciate how much could be done with opalescent black and textured clear glass. The "door" is actually one of the triangular sides of the pyramid.

I still think this is one of my best pieces; the photo doesn't do justice to the color scheme of the four small pieces which advance, back to front, in gradations of soft, watery lemon, peach, rose, and violet.

Leslie likes pyramids.
