I beat the odds... until yesterday

Materials:  DICOM disk from brain MRI

My submission to the Six Word Story Every Day project. I got the idea and threw the artwork together very quickly.


Everything except the brain is from an MRI I had done (negative, thankfully). I wanted to expand the center image so I tried to give the impression of the body dissolving downward into smoke, as though everything were falling into ruin.

The brain itself is from an image in the public domain, heavily edited to match the sun-like lighting I chose for the optimistic words above. The dire words below are meant to appear in motion, as though freshly broken -- again, to suggest things falling apart.
